Mr. Sabyasachi Rath has more than 28 years of rich and diverse work experience across the entire spectrum of Banking and Financial Services domain. Sabyasachi has performed various Leadership and Executive roles in large Financial Institutions like Tata Finance, Citibank, Fullerton India, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Dhanlaxmi Bank, CRISIL, Maybank Indonesia, Essel Finance Business Loan. Sabyasachi, being an Engineering graduate & Post graduate Diploma in Business Administration, is known for his meticulous understanding of the business metrics & thorough execution. His approach remains hands-on with equi-focus on business development, underwriting, risk management, regulatory and governance controls, collections and break-through technology implementation.
Mr. Sabyasachi Rath has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company since inception. He is responsible for handling the Business, Collections, Operations and Human Resource and Information Technology Departments of the Company. In his term as the Chief Executive Officer of the Company, his exceptional executional skills have been instrumental in driving the remarkable growth of the Company. Owing to his perseverance, the Company has expanded to 42 branches with about 400 employees with presence in 7 states across India and achieved an AUM of more than INR 150 crore with less than 1 percent NPA. The company also successfully closed two rights issues.
During his tenure with Essel Finance Business Loan as the CEO and ED, Mr. Rath could create and manage a retail secured lending to micro enterprises with a portfolio size of ~Rs.500 crore.
Mr. Rath was the first Chief Risk Officer of Maybank India, since its inception. He was instrumental in building the Bank’s franchisee in India and building the Risk Architecture and Risk organization of the Bank including implementation of world class enterprise wise risk management practices.
Sabyasachi Rath has been a part of the transformation team at Dhanlaxmi Bank as SVP, Risk & Credit Head of SME Business and subsequently as Credit Head for the bank.
He was also the founder member of Fullerton India’s SME business in collaboration with Centurion Bank of Punjab. This business built from scratch created a SME Secured book of more than one billion dollars with best-in-class practices in risk, underwriting, governance, early warning and portfolio analytics. This highly profitable franchisee was eventually bought by HDFC Bank during the merger of Centurion Bank of Punjab.
